Press Release: Motorists can face a win-win situation

Motorists can face a win-win situation

The journalists behind the celebrated motoring website, RoadTestReports.co.uk believe that they know how to help drivers save money when looking for their next set of wheels.

“RoadTestReports.co.uk is a brilliant networking opportunity for motorists to find out what real drivers make of the cars they have driven and help them identify good buys” says Faye Sunderland, one of RoadTestReports.co.uk’s journalists.

“The great thing about user reviews is that they have real practical angle to them. Although journalists have traditionally been instrumental in shaping and influencing our attitude towards the motor manufacturers’ offerings, they have a different set of values by which they judge the cars they test drive. It is not their fault; it is just that it is one thing to drive a car for a few days but to rely on it as your main source of transport from day to day can completely change your attitude. Journalists don’t intend to mislead us; it is just that time is the only real test of the quality and worth of a car.”

The website which recently celebrated its first birthday has collected some really interesting road tests from website visitors:

Notable examples include;

Peter from Lancashire thinks that the Fiat Doblo would suit the older generation although that doesn’t deter him;

“Petrol version does 40 mpg if you drive like a granny. Good for developing patience and understanding of other road users, who drive inferior vehicles. Or not as the case may be…. On the whole, good and comfy for arthritics etc. Will get another.”

Simon from Worcester says the BMW 3-Series Coupe is his perfect match;

“Decided on this car after falling in love purely with its looks and am happy to say she drives ten times better than she looks. It is a real honey with smooth power delivery and awesome handling, DSC on or off. Returns surprisingly good mileage figures too. My second BMW and very impressed.”
While Andrew from Lancashire thinks his Toyota Aygo has star quality;

“If Steve McQueen had been a car then he would have been the Aygo…. cool. [I got it in] black, I have had my windows tinted, so cheap to run, try and find cheaper, a push bike might be.”

To celebrate a successful first year and to further the winning streak for drivers everywhere, RoadTestReports.co.uk is offering the chance to win a TomTom* by simply submitting a review on the website and selecting to enter the competition. The winning review will be judged by an independent auditor on its informative and entertainment value.

The competition will close on 15th December 2008 and the winner will be within seven days of the closing date, just in time for Christmas.
