Want to know what Nationwide Autocentre’s fuel service is like? Our reporter, Nikki tries out their 12-point Fuel Service Plus on behalf of RoadTestReports.co.uk. Read her report here:

“Nationwide Autocentre performed their fuel service on my 52 plate, 1.4 litre diesel Peugeot 206 with just over 55,000 miles on the clock. As well as making important checks such as checking the tyre pressure, oil, coolant, brakes (to ensure they are not ‘binding’) and the clutch, I was also provided with a fuel system clean, oil system clean, a change of oil and a change of oil filter. As I tested the 12 point service priced at £70 (cheaper if combined with a standard car service when it is priced at £25), my car was given the complete service and I was very impressed by the thorough and professional treatment given to me. A cheaper 9-point fuel service is also available (£15 when combined with a car service), although for this reduced package you do not benefit from the oil system cleaner, oil change, and change of filter.

I noticed that the car was driving much more smoothly in the period immediately after the service and felt a noticeable improvement in its handling on the road. It made a nice improvement to my fuel economy too, which is always welcome! The first hydrocarbon emission test before the service gave me a rating of .77 after the test the emissions rating came back at a respectable .39. I fully expect to see my improved fuel economy to be especially handy on long distance motorway.

While I did not notice an astronomical improvement to the fuel economy, I do feel that the fuel service was worthwhile, and for older cars than mine or cars with more miles on the clock the benefits and improved fuel efficiency should be much more noticeable. In fact, Nationwide Autocentre are so confident that this will improve the vehicles emissions that they offer a money back guarantee if emissions haven’t reduced.”
