Subaru is to debut two concepts at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, one a rear wheel drive coupe called the BRZ ‘Proloque’ and a XV crossover.
Making use of Subaru’s all-wheel drive, the final production version of the new XV is expected to remain true to the design concept first shown at the Shanghai Auto show back in April. While full details of the new model are expected to be revealed at the show, for now all we know is the car’s dimensions; which are as follows: 4450mm long, 1780mm wide and 1570mm tall.
Meanwhile the BRZ will be Subaru’s first rear wheel drive vehicle, developed in a joint venture with Toyota. Using Subaru’s horizontally opposed Boxer engine configuration, the BRZ will use a 2.0 litre engine developed exclusively for the model. Dimensions for the new BRZ are 4200mm x 1770mm x 1270mm and with a wheelbase of 2570mm.
The models will be unveiled in Frankfurt on September 13, 2011.
