Renault Consumer Car Reviews

Renault Megane Hatch 1.5 dCi 100 2007

Good quality build and practical car. Cheap to run and insure for a saloon. Handling a little clumsy but otherwise a good buy.

Renault Laguna Hatch 1.5 dCi 2007

My family was getting larger and my VW Golf just wasn’t big enough any more. I had heard many positive reports on the Laguna from friends and family and after reading some online reviews decided that it was the car for me. I feel that my choice has been vindicated as the Laguna is a fine drive an gives me all the space we need. WHAT CAR? gave the Laguna 4 stars out of 5. I’ll give it 5 out of 5, that’s how happy I am with it.

Renault Scenic 2.0 dCi diesel 2007

Bought the Scenic brand new a few months ago. Chuffed to bits with it, nippy, spacious, safe and good value for money. The Scenic is based on the Megane and is very economical, doing about 50 miles to the gallon. Both myself and my wife feel extremely safe in the Scenic, a full complement of air bags and anti-lock brakes. A EuroNCap rating of 5 stars confirms this feeling. If you are looking for a family car then you should look no further than the Renault Scenic,, it ticks all the boxes for us as a family.

Renault Twingo 1.2 2006

For a 1.2 litre engine the Twingo is remarkably speedy and copes just as well on motorways as in cities. The fuel economy is excellent and with the low CO2 emissions running costs are kept low. The Twingo, in my opinion, is a perfect city car that can also cope outside of the city environment.

Renault Modus 1.4 16V Expression

Nice compact car with very spacious interior. It’s extremely responsive and therefore very easy to drive although I am going to mark it down regarding visibility as the windscreen pillars are quite chunky. The other downside is the boot space which is a bit mean although you can slide the rear seats forward. Good car but nothing special.

Renault Megane Hatch

I find my diesel Megane really cheap to run, insure & tax. On a 57 plate I only paid £11,000 for a nearly new one with just a few thousand miles. An important factor for me was the 5 star NCAP rating.

Renault Clio Campus 1.2 3dr

The Campus is a fun car to drive, has good road handling and gets you from A to B nice and reliably. It is very cost effective to run and insure and not too expensive to buy but I’m told that the depreciation on this car is going to be quite hefty, which has kind of taken the wind out of my sales about it.

Renault Clio

I’ve been driving a Clio for nearly 3 months it’s been excellent. It’s a 1.2 extreme, there’s lots of space and the insurance is cheap. This is the car for people who are single or just passed their test!!

Renault Megane Coupe-Cabriolet

Two weeks after picking up my new Megane Cabriolet (which I thought was going to be the car of my dreams), the roof started leaking. After 8 visits to various dealers and 15 months of battling with Renault UK, they agreed to replace my car with another model from the range which I am more then happy with. Part of the problem was caused when I visited one dealer for them to try and repair the roof, only for them to cause more problems which is as long story but resulted in them respraying half of the car. Unfortunately the spray job was not brilliant as I had pearlescent paint and I ended up with a two tone car, but all Renault could say was that the colour on the tin was correct. Funny that when they took the car back they resprayed it completely before putting it on the forecourt.

Renault Megane Coupe-Cabriolet Dynamique 1.9DT

I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem but the roof imploded on me whilst on the motorway! I bought a brand new Megane in May this year as I thought it a fun car with excellent safety standards. Not so! The electric window motor went after two months and then the shattering of the roof was the final straw! Nothing hit the roof; there was a sound like a gunshot and then the roof shattered, covering us in shards of glass. We think we are lucky to be alive as this happened on the motorway at speed. So, all you prospective buyers out there beware! Laminated safety glass? Forget it! And are Renault being a pain in the rear? What do you think!
