BMW very rarely make mistakes but that is what has happened here. Not up to BMW’s usually high standards, the X3 performs more like a saloon than the compact SUV it purposes to be and the build quality is simply not good enough for a vehicle of this price. Budget BMW.... read more

This car reminds me of a sophisticated German Go-Kart. Pin point handling, light and positive to drive, very quick off the mark for a 2 litre diesel and great at quiet long distance touring with 38mpg economy and cruise control set to 85mph. But the ride quality is nowhere near the 3 series saloon or the X5 so be warned! The 6 speed gearbox is positive and covers quite a low ratio first gear up to a long legged high 6th gear which allows motorway cruising at just over 2000 revs. Rear wing mirror coverage and parking sensors are the best yet.

The performance of the 1 Series is second to none. The 118d ES is a simply magnificent car. Price, fuel economy, max speed are all spot on. The mpg of 60 is almost unbelievable. This is not a family car and is better suited to young professionals. This make going to and coming home from work a joy ... almost!

The 1 Series M Sport is a stunning example of a small family car. Refined to the max in every way. Stylish interior, excellent seating positions with sports feel but total safety in mind. Although the ride is firm this is acceptable with the smooth and precise steering to compliment the excellent handling. The only item that really lets this vehicle and specific model down is the performance of the engine. BMW should have never released an M version in the 1.6. Not only is the engine seriously underpowered but the fuel consumption is less than desirable. You find yourself frantically shifting down through the gears at the whiff of a small incline, and when the car is complete with a family of four driving can become tiresome especially on long motorway inclines where you are constantly up and down the gearbox. I would love to try the 3litre version or even get a 2.0 litre on a track day to really see the suspension working.

Normally we change cars every year but are extremely pleased with this car and so decided to keep it for longer. Yes the vehicle has a hard ride which is a pain after a while (Dont get the sports suspention) but the car is a great all rounder and is economical to run. Recomended

The 120 d M Sport works out the better car in the series, be it a little costlier to run. I just purchased one, and I must say the performance is superb...overtaking on a large hill in 6 th gear ( any gear for that matter ) is a doddle. And having just upgraded from a VW polo, I was pleased that the BMW is just as easy to park and manouvre! The ride is a bit firm with the M suspension and it does have large blind spots......but with parking sensors this is negated. Inside BMW have given the ’ big car feel’ although a little more room in the rear would have helped. For all those interested in buying....try and get a demo car ( save on cost and running in time) and note that all the diesel models give around the same MPG!! So you could mainly save on road tax, the car price and insurance depending on the model you chose.

Great Car and (surprisingly) a really great dealer. I can highly recommend the www.kentbmw.co.uk website and the service that the Broad Oak Group provide. The car is superb and looks terrific. I love the way it drives. It is really powerful but economical thanks to its stop-start system in traffic. This part took a bit of getting used to but I am now loving the economy. I was unsure about buying a car on the web but I am now a convert thanks to Broad Oak BMW in Canterbury, Kent. They kept all their promises, kept me informed of progress and there were no nasty hidden extras. They made it simple and straightforward. Best of all for my convenience they delivered the car to my work which was fantastic service. I have had some poor experiences in the past with BMW dealerships but the guys at Broad Oak are different. Try them!

Good looking and well built but with all the space you want from a family estate. Who needs 4X4’s? 5 stars from EuroNCAP and an absolutely HUGE inside. Also a real driver’s car, fantastic feel, rear-wheel chasis is great and plenty of grip.

The best coupe I have ever had. Built with typical BMW quality, the drive is very sporty.
