Reason? the vehicle won't except any updates and Ford Technical Engineers don't know why.I think after 6weeks they should be able to resolve this. The vehicle was bought brand new mid March has only done 1800 miles when problem started, seem to b e getting nowhere with garage or Ford Customer Sevices. Any help would be welcome, Thanks in advance.

I have a 2014 Kuga which started leaking a fluid from the rear silencer box onto the driveway and has left a mess on it. the car has been back to the dealership had a new rear box fitted and the same thing has reoccurred and I have been onto Customer Services and they seem to be completely useless, I have been told by the dealership that they have never came across this problem before and as for Customer Services the person there has now gone on leave until 10th August, they are a complete waste of space.. You may need a new cam sensor. Mine had a similar problem 3 months ago. Take it to a garage and get them to see if there is an error code in the engine management system, even if your E.M. light is not on, as mine wasn't but there was an entry for the cam sensor having failed. liz from City of Derby

Hi. Our 55 plate C-Max had a flat battery, after we jump started the car the cd/radio does not work properly. It has lost all the radio stations and we cannot play any CD's. Is it just a case of replacing the fuse or do I need to take it into a garage? Thanks in advance.

Answers

Hi,If you are still looking for an answer, when I removed my radio/cd unit when I got my used `55 reg C-max a couple of years ago,I had to re-enter the 4 digit code as in the instruction manual given with the owners manual, when I bought the car.Perhaps your "problem" could be something simple like that.Worth a try if you haven`t already.Best of luck!! Ford Focus

My 09 diesel focus cuts out and needs to be restarted. It happens only when my foot is OFF the accelerator. The EPS (stability control light) is the only thing to come on. The car has stalled and I can usually restart whilst still rolling or whilst standing. Very rarely have problems restarting. It started about a month ago. Happened only once in a week whilst waiting to pull out. I noticed the idle revs jump above 1000 to 1500 then down to 500. It was going back to normal idling when it cut out and the EPS came on. It happened a dozen times the following week and then was fine for two weeks. Last week it happened twice in one short journey and once the following day, then fine again. This week, Today, it cut out three times in a single journey. Twice whilst at junctions, but once at 40mph! I was once able to catch it at idling try to cut out, stopped it by adding pressure to the accelerator and sending revs to 2000. Well that covers everything I experienced. No strange sounds, no juddering, nothing to tell me the car engine wasn't running (really smooth running and idling). Really catches you out when you try to pull out and it doesn't move. Fortunately I convinced myself I stalled it, despite driving without stalling it for five years. Ruled out driver error (it's happened to my wife, mechanic mate at halfords and AA guy). Any ideas....can it be fixed, or do I avoid buying a ford? Had many cars over two decades. Usually easy to diagnose and fix......but this one has me troubled.....really hate intermittent faults like this. :(

Answers

Hi I had the same problem thinking I had stalled the car a few times until I realised it was not me. The car kept stalling when I took my foot off the accelerator and put the clutch in to go round a corner or such like. It turned out to be the sensor in the on the gear box which sends the signal to the speedo. I replaced it last year and the car has run fine since. Pete from Leicestershire

Call a Ford dealer and order the parts. They will stock the parts as your car is less than ten years on and they are obliged to under EU law. Most parts are available separately down to nuts and washers.http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/general-technical-chat/307042-how-shift-cable-replacement-adjustment-mtx75-2000-2002-5-a.htmlThat may help you do this yourself.chaz from Essex

I brought a Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4, 2005 plate about 2 weeks ago. I noticed when my husband reversed it into the drive the right side reversing light was not working. I took it to Halfords to get the bulb replaced, assuming that was the problem. They said that some cars only have one reversing light. The reversing light is one side and the back fog light is on the other side. Does anyone know if this type of Fiesta does only have one reserving light? Many thanks for any help given.

Bllowing white smoke had turbo changed still Blowing white smoke and loss of power

Answers

Check the oil cap and dip stick doesn't have a mayo gunge on it. This is caused my mixed water and oil. if it does then suspected head gasket failure. Does the car struggle to start sometimes and stall then struggles to start again. The reason I say this is because white smoke is usually condensation (evaporated water) and when the head gasket goes the car usually loses compression which causes really bad running. dan from Hampshire

Answers

Hi i also have a ford focus estate 51 plate and i have to keep filling coolant and i also have coolant dripping off the gearbox, however i have found where its coming from on my car and you may have the same problem. Mine is coming from underneath the thermostat housing and dripping onto the top of the gearbox, this is common with these cars and i suspect you have the same problem. If you look just to the right of the engine (as you stand in front of the car) you will see where the HT leads for the spark plugs go into the coil pack, well just in front of the coil pack towards the front of the car you will see the thermostat housing feel underneath it its probably going to be wet. I hope this helps you let me know how you get on. dan from Hampshire

The electric blind that covers my panorama roof started to play up, stopping and starting and then the blind became baggy and wouldn't retract properly. I took it to a ford dealer and was told that to replace the blind it would cost £1000, without actually knowing if the mechanics are faulty or not! My car is 16months old and is not covered by warranty, as the blind is classed as trim, yet it could mechanical which would mean it would be. Anybody uncounted similar problems, if so how did you go about getting ford to rectify it.

Answers

Hello Lisa, Funny - I have exactly the same problem and was doing a google search and came across your query. I am in touch with Ford about this as the 3 year classic plan warranty that comes with all fords does not mention this as an exclusion. As far as I am concerned the blind is not closing so it is a mechanical fault and should be covered. david from Worcestershire

Faulty (or dirty) bonnet close sensor or connection. During the night the bonnet will be contracting with the colder temp, so triggering the bonnet open sensor which will set off the alarm. Try opening the bonnet and cleaning and regreasing the catch with copper based grease (conductive) Daniel from Staffordshire

I was push started by the car wash people and the car was ok for a few days, but the car wouldn't show the media player and the mileage was flashing continually. This morning car wouldn't start with exactly the same clicking sound. Recovery folks said it was the battery and gave it a boost so that I could start. I do a lot of short journeys in my car and they said that I should change the battery. My question is...will this definitely be the battery, as I don't want to buy a new one and find out that I didn't need to and that something else is the issue. Look forward to a reply...

I am wondering if it is an innate problem with this model after reading your account of the problem. I shall mention having read your your inquiry to the service person at Ford. I have the same problem, the car wont start, a click when I turn the the key and the odemeter mileage flashing. I jump started it and it started ok but because I did not drive the car of a week the car wont start again, light still flashing. I decided to have a new battery installed although the car is only 3+ year old. The flashing continues so I had it checked up at Ford Service in Sudbury and a diagnostic check was made ... The result - found several fault codes in system, delete and retest. Found. 1 hard code for CTM MODULE CONCE found requires further wiring checks... However, I decided not go further with this as I was worried about the expenses incurred and as it is only affecting the voice recognition /blue tooth stuff which I don't understand and never had use it and as I was made to understand that it will not affect the performance of the car I drove away quite happy. But the battery konked out again after not using the car for a few days So it's not the fault of the battery! This is worrying. Ya, i Jump started the car and it started but it's getting quite ridiculous. I have booked for another check with Ford next week. sim bailey from Essex

Hi mate, I had the same problem with my Ford Focus Zetec S, every time you washed it or it rained I went to hoover and the carpet was wet at the the passenger side. I took it back to Ford and they did the work and now no wet carpet. Tell your dealer to fix the problem. Ford are not that good at listening to problems so you have to stand your ground. I will never buy Ford again. mohammed from Worcestershire

My Galaxy has a solid brake pedal first drive of the morning, if you sit and wait the pedal comes back and works for the rest of the day. A bit worrying !!!

Check the rear brake calipers as the slides can seize which will keep your brake on, I`m saying your rear as you will feel pulling to 1 side if it was 1 of your front calipers. When your brakes are sticking the pedal doesn't have to go far. tim spurling from Derbyshire

Ford S-Max 2010

I lose the sound from my speakers in my Ford S-MAX except centre but at a low level, with a clicking type of sound and the words "drive fault " comes up on the Sony unit. Does anybody know what causes this to happen? Also under hard acceleration in 3/4 gears the engine seems to hesitate a little then pick up. It will keep doing it until you stop accelerating, it feels like a rocking type of motion. I hope things don’t come in 3’s. Any help will be great. (Titanium)

Hi matey, did you sort out CD player fault and was it a easy fix? Ben Moss from England

I have exactly the same problem displayed as "CD drive fault" with my S-Max from 2010. I also experience that to clear the fault, the car must be turned off and locked for several minutes and that a short power off/on cycle is not enough! I have noticed that the fault can be triggered by placing a mobile phone on the upper left speaker on the dashboard, so I suspect some kind of radio interference problem in the S-Max. It also appears more often on the high-way than in the city (maybe the mobile phone uses more power when far away from base stations?) Of course the error never appears at the Ford service center so they have so far not been able to solve this problem. Linus from Sweden

We have exactly the same issue. Has anyone got to the bottom of this yet? Hannah Swain from London

Ford now seem to have a software update, which solves this problem with S-Max and the sony audio. I visited Ford service a few weeks ago, they updated the sound system, and since then no CD drive fault! Linus Thrybom from Sweden

It’s pretty annoying we have the same problem with a 2010 Titanium x. Happens every other day and just comes out of the blue! Real shame as a great stereo. I’m going to get in touch with Ford as I can’t imagine our dealership will be much help; very friendly, but only interested in problems they see. Any suggestions would be appreciated :). If the car is switched off for more than 10 mins it usually corrects! Lee Bunn from England

same problem with my galaxy titanium stereo... i find holding the power button down until the display goes black, then switching it back on seems to reset it. Maybe be ok again for couple of hours, or couple of minutes then do it again. This is not a great solution but best i've come up with. Very annoying when your singing along.... then click click click. Ford main dealer wanted at least £90 depending on problem to fix it martin from Greater London

I had EXACTLY the same problem as described. I took it to the local main dealer where they advised that the issue was related to communication between the modules/components in the car. They upgraded the firmware of the modules and the problem was resolved. Phil from Staffordshire

Exactly the same problem as detailed. But my local dealership say there is no update and I need a new unit. Can anyone please tell me the dealership in Staffordshire or London who has resolved this so that I can contact them. Even contacted Ford who just supported the dealer's line and said I could go to another dealership. Infuriating. Dec from Surrey

Hi, I have this same problem. Did the Ford dealer charge to fix this update? If so, are you able to give an indication of the cost. Thanks Richard from North Yorkshire

At last some fellow Ford drivers with the same problem. I am selling my S-Max later this year and cannot sell it with this fault. My local Ford dealership said a new unit is £800(!) plus fitting costs. They suggested going onto Ebay and buying a second hand unit, which probably came from breaker`s yard right off Ford's with exact same stereo (cost circa £100 plus fitting costs). This I am wary of as it could be a whole load of expenditure and no fix. Phil from Staffordshire said they upgraded the firmware of modules and problem solved. Does this really fix it 100%? Simon Craig from Surrey

Hi Simon. I can confirm that I took my S-Max to the dealer and asked them to do an audio update. This fixed the problem. I left it with them for a few hours and they charged me £50 for the update. It was fixed about 4 months ago and I haven't seen the error since. I later found out that you can do the update yourself. Details on the link below. It may be risky though if it doesn't work so might be worth paying the dealer to do it. http://digiex.net/guides-reviews/guides-tutorials/14009-ford-audio-bluetooth-usb-firmware-update-november-2012-release-how-update.html Richard from North Yorkshire

Crawley Down Group updated the software and recalibrated for £28 plus they valeted the car - came back sparkling. This was after the unhelpful Lifestyle Ford at Manor Royal told me I needed a whole new unit and refused to take note of the online information I had on how to resolve it. Ford were pretty much the same treating social media as some kind of heresy to be ignored, rather than a way of sharing problems and finding answers. They suggested a second opinion as if I had some major medical condition. Anyway, won't be using Lifestyle ever again and would highly recommend Crawley Down Group for excellent service and not treating me like I was an idiot. Dec from Surrey

Richard from North Yorksire and Dec from Surrey, thank you so much for feed back. My local Ford garage were leaning towards new unit at £800!! Crawley Down Group I have used for other vehicles (vans) for work and have found them good in past. They are only a few miles from my business. Didn't know they did Fords. Thanks gents..Simon Craig from Surrey

Ford Galaxy

Had really strange problem with our Ford galaxy. loaded up for holiday doing solid dual carriage way driving when gradually the front passenger and 2 of back seats started feeling really warm. To the point where it was uncomfortably hot, despite having air con on blowing out cool air. stopped vehicle and bonnet wasn't hot, temp gauge normal but metal.bottom. part of front passenger and back passenger seat behind extremely hot to touch. waited 15 min for everything to cool down and see off again (driving below 60mph)with fans off And the problem did not reoccur. very strange! any ideas what could have caused this?!

Answers

If you have heated seats the relay could have stuck on and when you switched the car of it would switch the relay of. I would get it seen to asap as it could cause your car to fire. Hope it helps you. brian from North Yorkshire

Thank you for your answer. We don't have heated seats! its quite an old model. although that is what it felt like. although only 3 of the 5 seats were affected. its very peculiar. have been in a fairly new car which caught fire due to an electrical fault so feel quite concerned about the cause! Karl tovell from Suffolk

Hi Karl Just another thought have a look at the earth straps from engine to earth. I had many years ago not as series as yours on a old comer van it would not start on the key but if you put the starting handle in and swung it of it started first swing It was ear thing through the chock cable it was getting red hot. I AM SHOWING MY AGE NOW.I hope you get it sorted out asap. Does it only get hot on the seats and no were else it is strange. Any way hope you get it sorted I will ask around.Brian brian from North Yorkshire
