I have the car under the Motability scheme and it is very comfortable particularly with heated seats to ease my arthritic pain. When I took on the Qashqai I knew that it was a heavier car (80kg) than my previou Megane sport tourer 1.5dci. I did not expect to find that 80kg would equate to over 25% more fuel consumption. I have mentioned this to the dealership when I took it in for a service at the beginning of this month. The engineer at Westway Nissan told me that I was getting better than could be expected so it isn’t my driving. A very comfortable car nice to drive yes, but with the inceases at the pumps my fuel bill has gone up by nearly 40% per month. If fuel costs are not an issue with you then I would strongly recommend the car, but if like me it IS important then steer well clear of the Qashqai as I will be doing in 2014 when I come to change it.

I bought my 2012 Qashqai just one month ago but unluckly had an accident 3 days ago. I was on an irregular road and the vehicle tipped after losing control on dry dirt. My 4x2 was completely destroyed after 4 spins over a cain yard. Me and 2 other companions are gratefully fine. Any bruises we have were caused by trying to escape the tipped-over vehicle. Although I am not sure what really caused the vehicle to lose control the tyres lost all traction, which might have been the reason for the accident. Nevertheless the three of us are still alive after this incident, which is truly because we all had our seat belts on, which by the way did not stick or bruise us. Quite an adrenaline rush and thanking god for keeping us in this world!

The Nissan Qashqai is a brilliant car to have. Because of the jacked-up suspension, it gives you fantastic driving visibility.
