Nissan X-Trail Tekna Bose 173 - Connet Premium 2011

1 star review

The latest incarnation of the X-Trail comes supplied with Nissan’s brilliant (but also useless) Connect Premium sat-nav (or sat-lost) + audio system. The following applies to all Nissan UK models with this system (XZ-trail, Navara, Pathfinder, Murano,370Z); When you buy this you get a 40GB hard drive with the sat-nav pre installed (no back-up discs), but what you won’t get told is that Nissan (or any other firm) have never released any mapping update discs so whatever the age of the map data when you buy the vehicle this is the mapping you have to use for the whole life of the vehicle!! So it can be up to 2 years out of date when purchased new! As a £1500 extra this is very expensive for what is in effect an unusable and unsafe sat-nav system. Nissan UK customer service/technical couldn’t care less. The dealer was very helpful in trying to solve the problem, but once purchased "Premium" in this case means lowest class with no support. My advice? Do NOT buy any Nissan vehicle with Connnect ’Premium’ HDD infotainment-sat-nav system!! I love my X-Trail, but not the Connect Premium system or Nissan UK Customer service.
