Renault Trafic 2010

5 star review

This is an update on my last report on my 2010 Renault Trafic: I have now covered almost 100,000 miles. The only repairs so far are 1 wiper blade and garage said there is slight wear on the track rod end, which is not covered by warranty. I explained to the garage the one on the other side is ok so it’s a manufacturing fault, which we all know it is, so I want it fixed under the terms of the warranty. It’s still running on the original discs and has still never missed a beat. It’s still the most reliable van I have ever driven, but to my dismay there is a rust hole on the passenger door. This will be fixed under the paint warranty. My transport manager has just informed me that my van will be swapped for a Ford Transit at the next changeover. I will keep you all posted. P.S. My van is fully loaded at all times.

I have a Trafic van and it has been backwards and forwards to Motorline Renault, Maidstone as it keeps failing to start and has had 7 starter motors in the last 9 weeks. Renault are now refusing to carry the works out under warranty despite the face they have not found the problem. They say that once a new one is fitted all is ok. They can not find the cause other than to say we might be holding the key in the on position. Beware as they are now saying I have to pay for the starter motor!!!! What happened to consumer rights? Oh, and Renault UK have closed the case; clearly they do not have a clue and were quick to say that I should get a second opinion from another garage, yet I bought the van new from them??!!

Having previously driven a Nissan Primastar 07 reg, which was a total nightmare. It was in for repair more often than on the road; brakes, discs, turbo, fuel pump, track rod ends, ball joints, steering rack, etc. It was such a total nightmare that when we got a new Renault Trafic I nearly resigned my job! I hated these Renault built vans with a vengence. However, after 15 months use of this van and 80k on the clock with no repairs needed, no breakdowns and only brake pads and service costs; still running on the same brake discs and not even a wiper blade needed, this has to be the most reliable van I have driven in 30 years. I am not joking, you should read my last report on a Renault built Nissan!! My new Renault is, however, perfect, I even had to apologise to my Transport Manger because this van is so good. I will keep you all posted with an update.

Just been reading all the notes about this van. This is the 2nd one we have owned 39k in one yr no faults whatsoever. Our previous early 02 plate van did 130k with one issue, h.p fuel pump failure. I really rate these vans. My employee likes it too. I run myself a Vito 115 and must say that the Trafic is more comfortable, been looking to replace the Vito. VW want 23k for the same spec Transporter as a Trafic sport, Renault is 13k. New Vito is around same price, no brainer really, what are you getting for that 10k? All these vans have horror stories but at least with the Renault you have saved 10k to start with in savings. My Vito has had more warranty work than the Renaults I have owned.
