Nissan Qashqai N-tec 1.5 Diesel 2010

We have a 2010-60 plate Nissan Qashqai N-tec 1.5 diesel model. This has been the worst car that we have ever owned, from the first day picking the car up it was trouble there was a major paint defect on the vehicle that Nissan some how failed to notice leaving there factory. It’s been into the Nissan dealership in Coventry that many times now I have lost count; it creaks and knocks when driving and the suspension is rather poor. A few weeks ago my wife was driving the car in the middle lane of the motorway at 60 mph when the car lost all power. Luckily she managed to get to the hard shoulder and the RAC attended and informed her the car had snapped its cam belt! The car had 16,000 miles on the clock, this should not happen to a new car. It was towed back to Nissan for a new engine to be fitted. We picked the car back up yesterday and it seems like this is not a one-off situation with the cam belt snapping, there have been others reported by Nissan across the UK . We are getting rid of the piece of junk and will be replacing it in June with a new car. If you have any sense don’t get a Nissan Qashqai.

Mine is a mobility vehicle. When I picked it up from the dealers, it was fine for a while but had to get the sat nav/cd player changed as the sat nav told me I was moving whilst I was parked and the cd kept ’stuttering’. There was a ’noise’ from the dash to the right of the steering wheel which is something to do with the fuel pump and even though this was ’sorted’ it still makes a slight noise. The dealers ’Chorley Nissan’ in Wigan were very good and even replaced the sat nav console at great expense to themselves. Overall, the drive is perfect, road handling very good, comfort excellent and the torque of the 1.5 very impressive. The heated seats in winter are a godsend, reversing camera excellent. I’ve done some miles in mine and really have no complaints. It’s sad to hear other people experiencing terrible inconveniences with their vehicles and dealers. I’m not intending to ’promote’ my dealer but I have found their service and aftercare wonderful. I would recommend a Qashqai Tekna 1.5 Dci to anyone. There are plenty of alternative vehicles on the market but I’m more than happy to choose another Qashqai when I have to replace mine.

I have had a Qashqai as a company car the last 8 months and have been very pleased with the car. A 1.6 engine is just big enough for normal driving but it has to be worked hard to get any performance which results in a 35 average MPG. Soft comfortable suspension which leans a lot through corners and lack of speed means it’s not fun to drive. Being a petrol head, I’m getting something fast and sporty soon but the qashqai is a great family car.

Nissan Qashqai Acenta 2.0 CVT 2010

Only had the car a month but we have been very pleased with it. It is comfortable and the CVT makes driving so much easier than a manual. The handling is fine and the seating is very comfortable. I only hope that the faults I have been reading about have been ironed out...
