Peugeot Boxer 2009

I had a new Elddis autoquest motorhome based on the new boxer three years ago and had no trouble with this apart from one computer upgrade. Replaced with another this year and so far it is O.K. I replaced my transit van twelve months ago with a new boxer and it has had a couple of electrical problems that were sorted out very quickly by Horderns Motohouse in Chapel-en-le-Frith (first class service).

Bought new motorhome with 3.0ltr engine 2009, after 4000 miles the clutch went! Had previously taken van to the garage regarding the clutch, they said it was fine so went off to France and 1500 miles later the clutch went. Peugeot don’t give a s**t, they say it is the drivers fault. I had to pay the dealer for the new clutch, €600, said it was wear and tear. Why and how can they get away with putting these motorhomes on to these chassis?

Any one had and problems with the gear lever rocking in sixth gear? When travelling at any speed in sixth gear and I quickly lift my foot off the accelerator the gear lever rocks forwards with a clunk, but does not jump gear. This will continue up the road for as long as I continue to do as before. Anyone out there have any idea of what can be the cause as the local Peugeot dealer says there is nothing wrong and won’t investigate as the vehicle does not jump or clear the gear. Thanks in advance.

We bought a new motorhome in March - a base van Peugeot Boxer - ran it for 2,500 miles and in June, on the way to France, only 50 miles from home it broke down. Juddering and losing revs. The AA came to assist us and said the problem was the egr valve, replaced it but problem was not sorted - the van is still with Peugeot 5 weeks later; they must have spent in the region of £6,000 on parts. It has had a high pressure fuel pump, injectors etc etc - each part they needed seemed to have around a 2 to 3 week delay - we have had to contact Peugeot UK numerous times to chase part availability on behalf of the garage. We are now on first name terms with the Customer Services Manager and have been told that the problem with our van has been one of the more serious problems they have to solve in the country. Two weeks ago we were told that Peugeot thought that the problem was the ECU and that the part would not be available till 31/7/09 - we waited patiently and the 31/7 came and we contacted Peugeot to be told this would now not be available till 11/8. At this my partner contacted the motorhome dealership and informed them that we were giving the motorhome back and wanted our money back. The Motorhome dealership were fantastic and kindly sent a donor van to assist Peugeot (Peugeot had already told my partner that they didn’t have one in the country that they could use as a donor vehicle) in their dilemma - at last the van worked. AH! BUT... still hav nt got the motorhome back - Peugeot won’t leave that ECU on the van as they say they need to put the one on that is specially ordered for our van - they say these ECUs are unique to the van they are ordered for? I am no expert does anyone know if this is the case? By the way the man who is considering buying a ford - our peugeot has a ford transit engine!!
