As one of the most distinctive cars of the 1960s, it surprised many in 2007 when the Fiat 500 was reborn. However, as a vehicle steeped in history this city car is proof that all that was old is new again. The Fiat 500 was originally established in 1957 when the post-war economy called for economical cars. It was patterned on the Volkswagen Beetle and took many of its characteristics. The Fiat 500 was made until 1977, though the Fiat 500 K lived on until 1977. In 2007, the Fiat 500 re-entered production – exactly 50 years on from the original Fiat 500 model.
