Martin Luther King once very famously said "I had a dream." - well, so did I. Martins dream was a little deeper and more meaningful then mine; his dream was for a racially united world where creed and colour faded into insignificance and became an unrecognisable entity. Slowly but surely, through blood, sweat, tears, and a terrific amount of dedication a racially united world is emerging phoenix like from the devastation and deep rooted tension caused by hundreds of years of racial hatred. My dream was far more simple. My dream was for a dangerously dynamic, technologically advanced, coupe styled sports utility vehicle (SUV). My dream is slowly becoming a reality too, thanks to an audaciously inspired leap by the designers at BMW. The new BMW X6 is described in true "Ronseal" fashion as the worlds first Sports Activity Coupe. Offering the comfort and performance of the BMW coupes (at a whopping 408 bhp!), the X6 looks meatier, more manly, more butch, more "the business" than your bog standard sports coupe. As a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) I’m not so sure. It has a little more ground clearance than your standard car, and "Dynamic Performance Control" which delivers power and torque to the right places when needed, but it’s still just a car. I’d still prefer a Subaru 4×4 estate or a Range Rover for a day at the Game Fair, but ultimately there is something very appealing about the new entry to the BMW range. The new BMW X6 will appeal to a certain kind of man; men who want to be men, men who dare to be different, men who want to "stand out from the crowd", men who, through having a car like this, want to bolster some kind of sexual inadequacy (think short men wearing thick soled shoes, or skinny men having pec implants, or bald guys with a horrifically styled comb-over!). Would I have the X6? Well, I have a full head of hair, twenty years spent pumping iron have given me pecs to be proud of, and I’m only slightly vertically challenged (I would never make a NBA team!), but yes, I would. I think that the BMW X6 is impressive enough to make a very positive and loud impact on anyone’s garage.
