PEUGEOT EXPERT TEPEE reviews by year of make: 2005 2007 2008 2009 Read all reviews
The unusual Peugeot Expert Tepee may look like it is built for those who like to live under canvas, but it is actually Peugeot’s latest step into the light commercial vehicle market. The Expert Tepee comes in two formats – a standard and long wheelbase body length – and is particularly aimed at professional drivers, especially those who specialise in airport and hotel transport. It could be an economical choice for your business too with three HDi Euro IV turbodiesel engines and two diesel units to choose from. Depending on your purpose for the vehicle, the Peugeot Expert Tepee is available with either two or three rows of seats sitting 5/6 or 8/9.

I’m using mine as a taxi.I have 21 years experience of driving taxis and have driven a million miles plus in my lifetime and I’m more than qualified to say this taxi is not the correct tool for the job. It’s like walking into B&Q and explaining to the sales person the task you need to do and instead of walking out with a hammer the guy sells you a saw! It’s not tough enough. I’m at 90000 miles now and the problems have moved on from" trivial" stuff like doors, brakes, anti roll bars, side steps, clutches, fly wheels, etc., to engine problems. I had a tx1 taxi which I put 450000 miles on. I would have to buy 3 e7s to do the same. The tx was built in 1997 the e7 in 08, you would have thought technology may have moved on? Do not buy this car. Although warranties look good they aren’t always what they seem, even in black and white! 80% of my passengers have trouble even shutting the door. very tiresome on a 12 hour shift! Also I have to travel from Edinburgh to Glasgow everytime there is a problem and wander round there 8 hours till fixed, just a nightmare!!

Absolute rubbish. Poor MPG, build is a joke and the car has been in three times for knocking noises which has now resulted in a replacement of the anti roll bar, bushes, links, amongst other items. Also, the rear light has been replaced due to water seepage as well as door traps on 30k... This car was not built for a taxi and will be complaining to cab direct for selling us a poor car with practically no aftercare nor service. All E7 owners shoudl get togther and complain and as far as cab direct are concerned, I will never buy another car from them again.

08 plate Expert, taxi 43,000 miles and it’s had 2 new clutches, new front anti roll bar, new front seat (worn out from getting in and out of cab all day). But I found cab direct very good to deal with and so far my main dealer has been good as well. I still like the cab BUT PEUGEOT NEED TO PULL THERE ACT TOGETHER AND SORT OUT THE CLUTCH. And cab direct should be telling people thay will need to replace the clutch very 20,000miles. It’s being sold, unfit for purpose.

Hi, I have only had my taxi since December 08 with 17,000 miles only. The dealer replaced the fly wheel and clutch and within 18hrs it came adrift and wrecked the gearbox. It has taken 3 weeks for someone to take responsibility for it and I have not earned a penny in that time. Can you help me and point me in the right way to get compensation. Thank you; you can contact me at robson.derek AT sky.com

I have a new E7, bought in 2008. I have had many problems with the clutch. Peugeot replaced the clutch twice but I am still not satisfied, as the gear is still not running smoothly. I have had a problem with the anti roll bar brushes. I have no faith in Peugeot dealership to correct the ongoing problem. Peugeot Garages within my town have been very unhelpful. I have lost valuable time due to this problem. I have also found that a lot of my colleagues in Leicester with this vehicle have had the same problem and have had their clutches replaced twice in one year.

I to am getting a lot of noise from the rear and when going over rough ground it sounds like the suspension is knocking on the front. Changing the headlight bulbs is an absolute nightmare when doing it for the first time, just not enough hand space. The side light was easy to get out but there is only room for 2 fingers to get the bulb back in. I managed to push the holder in to the light assembly - 20 minutes to get it out. I would like to be able to switch the seat belt warning alarm off. I have an issue with the single folding seat being on the drivers side because, as a taxi driver it means the rear passengers getting out on to the road. other than that a good car, spacious and comfortable (not as comfy as the 806 I have). I have recorded 31mpg doing local work and recorded 40mph to Southampton and back from Middlesbrough. It looks good and certainly catches the eye. I have the 8 seat model, although on the log book it’s a 9 seater. Peugeot tell me it will cost about 2k for the twin front seat. I have not had it serviced yet as it’s only been working since November and I have only covered 10k miles. Does anyone have the correct tracking setting for this car?

7 days since we received the Tepee; fantastic, nice tight drive, superb space, good seats, suspension good, quite nippy after having a Chrysler Voyager. Far superior, this seems a great value vehicle with space and good drive.

We have had our Tepee for just over a week. It looks good, is nice to drive and most of all, I can get my 2 sons in plus my disabled daughter as it has been adapted as a wheelchair accessible vehicle. We are able to get everything we need in to it as it is nice and roomy and it certainly makes life a lot easier for our family!! We do have one snag with it though..... after a week of having it, the battery went flat and I had to call the AA out. Took it to our local Peugeot dealer who said they needed the whole car to see where the drain was but as we were on our way to take my daughter to the hospice for respite, and it started ok, we decided to not to leave it as. However, again, 3 days later, the damn battery was flat again and had to get my sister to jump-start it...not impressed!! Needless to say, it shall be going in to the dealer on Monday morning (tomorrow!).... fingers crossed that’ll be the only issue we have with our new car! Shame as we love it!
