Nissan Note 1.4 Acenta 2008

4 star review

This is my wife’s car, a replacement for her Micra, which was also reviewed on this website. My first impressions of the Note is it is more comfortable than the Micra, more spacious and noticably quicker and more economical. I’ve achieved at one point, on a motorway, 60 mpg. Performance-wise, the note is quicker than the Micra because it has a larger and more powerful 1.4 litre engine and a manual gearbox, the Micra only had a 1.2 litre engine and an automatic. The only downside to the car is that the gearing is too short for my liking and I think that the car would have done better with a 6th gear, it certainly has the pulling power to cope with a 6th gear. Apart from the short gears, I think the car is near-enough perfect and is better equipped, and more reliable, than your equivalent Fiesta or Corsa from the same year.

Nissan Note 1.5dci 2008

5 star review

I bought my note 1.5dci second hand with 23000 mls on clock have done 27000 mls on top of this figure in just 16 months and so far no problems to report. Great economy comfy ride loads of space for my German pointer dogs. Very economical to run approx £10 every 100 miles sometimes a little more. It behaves really well in the worst of weather conditions and feels really safe I have driven though a few floods and lots of snow and ice here in Wales and have been very pleased with the cars performance in these conditions. The only change I would ask is is to make it a little less noisey. Otherwise a wise buy for space comfort and economy and reliability. Oh and I like the quirky looks!

Nissan Note Teckna 1.5 Diesel 2008

5 star review

Had the Note for 2 and a half years, bought at 6 months and 4,000 miles old. The car has now done 45,000 miles and is about to go out of warranty. So far only 2 minor problems sorted out under warraty in about an hour each (new sunvisor as the other one was loose and 2 new alloys due to minor corrosion). Main gripe is the expensive tyres with no cheap alternatives. Mine last about 15,000 miles, my previous cars could get at least double that. The Nissan dealer says that I am lucky, many people only manage just over 10,000! Like it for the vast space for the smallish size. I carry elderly passengers much of the time and they can easily get in the back as well as the front. The diesel is great, not too noisy and I manage about 62mpg according to the onboard computer. Even if it is over-optimistic by 10% I would consider the high fifties to be good! I will only say that it is a brilliant car when I have done around 80,000 trouble-free miles, but so far the signs are good.

Nissan Note 1.4 accent 2008

5 star review

This is the best car I have had so far and I want to buy this car at the end of the lease term. It is fantastic on fuel, plenty of room as my wife and myself are both disabled. We have done 23000 miles so far and we have not had any problems. When the back seats are down there is plenty of room to move what you like. Very pleased.

Nissan Note 1.6 manual Accenta 2008

5 star review

My first "foreign" car and it is a fantastic little car, but, it has a problem which Nissan have refused to cure or can’t cure. Any user who drives at a constant speed say 1700-2000rpm on very light throttle will experience the engine surging. It spoils a very good car.

Nissan Note Tekna Auto 2008

4 star review

Having just got the Note I think it is a very good car. We had a Mazda 3 before but it was unsuitable for my wife who is disabled. Having looked at various options we went for the Note. I fancied an automatic for a change; the change through the gears is very smooth - there is much more legroom than in the Mazda. I find it a very well finished car; a firm ride at low speed but it evens out on motorways. My wife has a electric scooter for mobility which fits easily into the boot with no problems. I had to dismantle it to fit into the Mazda. The Note is no sports car but is nippy and more than able to maintain motorway speeds with ease. All in all a very good car.
