Peugeot 1007 Dolce 1.4 manual 2007

3 star review

Bought this car 3 months ago and as there was not much of a service history took it to my local garage for thorough check. New wheel bearings required and installed. One week later, driver door refused to stay open. I achieved a good agile method of getting in and out of the car without being crushed. In spite of all the safety gizmos those doors can hurt. Took the car to Peugeot dealer who could not find a fault. Drove away from dealership but got belted by the door closing by on its own initiative. Door fault has now vanished, works fine., but now I have a warning of non-functing airbag, Peugeot dealer thinks its something to do with the wiring loom under one of the seats - their advice was to ignore the warning light, the airbag works fine. Yesterday the power assisted steering failed, so I booked it into a garage but this morning it works fine. The car has a perverse personality problem, it doesn’t need an engineer it wants a phsychiatrist. If the car does not like the route you intend to travel it will do something to let you know all about it. My Dolce is not keen on Supermarkets, so that is where most of the problems seem to start.

Like all the other people in these reviews, I have had nightmare problems with my electric doors - opening when driving or when car was parked overnight (and locked), refusing to open, and on one occasion, locking me inside the car! I’ve had catalytic converter failure messages on five different occasions, with the car refusing to go into gear, necessitating breakdown recovery to the garage. They changed plugs, filters, put new parts in the gear box, and ran repeated diagnostics on the doors. They have yet to find a problem with the doors - and even said that I was the only person that they knew of that was experiencing this!! I ended up talking to Peugeot Main Customer Services - who promised the earth - including taking the car to their own workshop in the Midlands and even replacing the car! Great I thought! They asked me to run the car for a few weeks and let them know how it went. I phoned them and told them that I was still having door problems and all they would do was put it into the dealership again - who found nothing wrong and put it down to intermittent fault. We have done the whole WD40 stuff etc, that was recommended on here and still having problems. Im now out of warranty and will have to foot any bill needed, including £75 each time for the diagnostic! I bought this car as I’m disabled and am totally devastated with it - I now hate driving it. I’ve had it three years and it only has 11100 on the clock! Peugeot Customer Care now hang up on me if I telephone them. They ask for registration number and name - then click - they’ve hung up. No wonder that Peugeot withdrew this car - they should accept responsibility for the rogue cars that they sold to us as well. Or are they going to wait for a serious accident with the doors and someone suing them? I too wish that I could give a 0 star rating!!

Loved the car until... serious defect with passenger door (opening when driving), EPS and Automatic Gear selector. Dealer has quoted over £900 to repair. Electrical fault and door problems ’not connected’. Wiring loom needs repairing, door needs ’actuator’. Car has only 25000 miles on the clock. I contacted Peugeot but they have absolutely no interest as the car is out of warranty. I am really disillusioned and angry. Dealer has been good - product is rubbish. Just a pity that I can’t award 0 or negative stars.

Bought my 1007 18mth ago. One previous owner from new. I had trouble with the drivers door not staying open. Easily remedied with a spray of W D 40 on return bar at rear bottom of door, no more trouble since.

I like the car and I’m gutted that it’s been discontinued. The door problems usually stem from dirty contacts on the door frame or dirt in the door catch at the rear of the door. If the door refuses to close properly, a few squirts of WD-40 on the contacts and the door latch will uaually fix it, it did in my case anyway.

Only had the car a month already having problems with the doors. The one door will open and then shut straight away giving you seconds to get in before it comes back on you. What a pain, love every thing else about it just think the doors are stupid!!

I purchased a 1007 1600cc sport in June 2007 and to date it has been the perfect car for me with easy access and easy parking. This latest version has smooth gear changing in auto or paddle shift , there is plenty of room for rear seat passengers . The performance on this model is pretty good, I am very pleased with it.

Love the sliding doors, great when I’m playing taxi to my daughter’s whims. Plenty of room inside, smooth pleasant ride. Five stars from Euro NCAP, great result for such a small car.
