The Audi TT Coupe is the ultimate sports car. Power, performance and style have come together with luxury in every detail: this is the evolution of an icon and a car made to move you.

When you live next door to a prat who lives his life swapping cars as much as some blokes swap their undies, and he turns up in some of the best performance toys on the road, it kind of gets the adrenalin buzzing from time to time just sat watching them line up outside of the rear bedroom window being polished and cared for by his immigrant friends, (cheap labour and bad hair styles), every other month. And after two years of non stop swapping, you decide to build up enough courage and actually ask him over a beer, "how the hell he manages to pay for all of these fantastic cars", it gets a little embarrassing when he turns around and quite openly says, it costs him nothing, "the vehicles are all company cars that he uses", and has the freedom to jolt from motor to motor, whenever he wants, (providing the motor is available and not ready for the forecourts)! Then i got really confident and asked him for a drive in the latest car, the Audi TT. With all of the goodwill of a really great neighbour, he said, "nope, you will have to pop into the showrooms and get an official test drive with one of the sale steam. I just do the valetting. So confidence battered and ego reduced to the size of Thumbelina’s knickers, i decided to do just that. And how i enjoyed the experience. The Audi TT is similar in stance to the Nissan 350Z and to be fair, looks a little more eager to please. The other main contender for the super coupe crown is probably the BMW Z4, (all really good derivatives of the coupe boardroom drawing boards, and all tight engined and swollen brake discs). Sitting in the TT i could see why this car is now topping the list with today’s army of hair salon owners and clothing boutique skimmers. Very, very brave is the man who tempts fate in tight corners driving a vehicle too hard, this thing followed the curves on many back roads like the middle white lines on a motorway, absolutely fantastic! Noise was easily bearable, (but then you aint going to buy a sports car and want to hear the purring of a Lexus electric engine from beneath the throttle). Every detail in the cabin is top quality and the top end speed i managed was too great to brag about on the limited speed roads en route, (unbelievably agile). There were no issues with space, or traffic cops for that matter, and the salesman only spent two minutes with an old jiffy bag once we arrived back at the depot. This was last year’s model, (this years new version is supposed to be even better). Very, very, very good.
