I’ve run my 350Z for 2yrs and about 20k miles now. It was bought with a full Nissan service history and about 40k miles on the clock. It’s fast with plenty of useful torque and it sounds great. The cabin manages to provide the normal japanese quality and logical layout whilst providing a bit of retro fun. Its huge fun as a sports car and manages to achieve the character most jap sports cars lack. Apart from routine servicing mine has had zero defects in 7yrs. It’s still on the same clutch. The engine feels as strong as every and the gearbox and steering are tight. Staggering for a 274bhp sports car. Downsides? The boot is a joke and the Nissan ’need to click "open" twice’ to unlock the passenger side are annoying. Max 32mpg min 18mpg. Tyres last about 15k miles under normal use. Hugely recommended, especially for anyone contemplating a TVR or similar.

I got my first 350z GT yesterday and I am in love already. It feels great, looks great and sounds great. I can’t see myself ever turning back. It’s a delight to drive and is a real head turner. If you’ve not got one then your missing out on a real treat.

I bought my car privately. It was a ’one lady owner’ car with only 13,750 miles on the clock, full service history, five hundred pounds worth of extras ad garaged in pristine condition. She even filled it with petrol! From the moment I drove it home I knew it was my dream car. I have driven all Porsche Boxster models and owned a Porsche for 12 years. The 350Z is a better car and, in my opinion, better made and looking. It is also £pound15,000 cheaper than the Boxster S! The car handles superbly on motorway, locally and country roads. The sheer power and torque are amazing. The Brembo brakes are Commensurate with the whole quality of the car. My car is 276 BHP, the new new 370Z is 330BHP and 120KG lighter; I can’t imagine how that feels! Recently I stayed with friends in New York and we visited a huge Nissan dealership with all the new models. The 370Z was $29,000, approx £10,000 cheaper. I was born in the wrong country!!!

This is a great, great car. 4 stars do it justice though. I have have a couple of issues with mine (listed below) you should consider before buying. 1. Leather - Not good. When I bought mine it was 18 months old and the driver’s seat has already started to crack and wear, rubbing off the tan surface leather layer. By comparison, I also have a 12 year old Mercedes and the seat leather is, even now, in better condition. 2. Wheel Bearings - This is a little known fault that is on most dedicated 350Z forums. Nissan feign ignorance of this issue and fobbed me off when I asked them about a rumbling in the front left (under warranty). I haven’t driven the car much but need to get this seen to as it’s getting worse. 3. Mazda RX8 - If you are considering an RX8 against a 350Z consider this. Forget performance, forget looks, forget mpg, forget colour(!), if you want to be the one sitting in the true driver’s sports car, it’s the 350Z every time. The Mazda has 4 doors, so takes the kids. In 5 years it’s style will be so dated you’ll think you’ve been transported to 1999, and it doesn’t stop traffic the way a 350 does. It’s also too much of an all rounder to be a ’serious’ sports car. 4. Fun - I have driven mine to the south of Spain (a longer, twistier, more interesting route), and I vowed I would NEVER sell this car. My daughter’s arrival has put paid to that, but I will NEVER forget it once it’s gone. Get one, you won’t regret it.
