Renault Trafic SL27 2002

I have had the van two years. It’s in good condition and had 47k on the clock when I got it, liked the looks and it drove well, comfy etc. Two turbo boost sensors and an air mass meter went within the first six months. In the Renault garage, out of the Renault garage etc, etc. Thought fair enough, it is second hand. Then the van decided it didn’t want to rev past 1500 revs and went into "limp mode" (?) and then worked and then it didn’t etc, etc. AA followed me to a garage. Garage couldnt find the fault back to renault. More money for the fancy computer test. "It’s the EGR valve", "it’s the Air mass meter", its this - change bits put the original bit back on, blah, blah. No-one seemed to know what it was, which is worrying since they build them. Got the van back, took it up the road, still doing the same thing so straight back in the garage - this time they changed some vacuum pump to do with the turbo as it had blocked up (?) anyway seemed to clear the fault, until it rained. Faults back again. For f**** sake! Told Renault that this fault seems worse during or after a downpour, it doesn’t do it when the weather is dry. They said it was coincidence and told me they changed the engine oil as they said it was too thick and blocking up the Vacuum pump pipes, £100 + notes. Could it be a leaky filler cap; there is water on top of the engine after heavy rain or maybe water running into a sensor causing a short? Does seem odd that its worse after rain? They didnt want to know, what kind of service is that at £75 an hour? Now there is a buzzing noise then from the top of the engine when I turn off the ignition. Doesn’t do it all the time. Anyone got any ideas? PS. Renault had their top mechanic on the fault finding and the van still has the same fault, make up your own minds! I wont be buying another Renault, think I might fork out for a Transporter instead. Can’t afford to have the van off the road and playing up as I am self employed and need it to be reliable. Pity as it is a great looking van.
