I bought my 1997 Pug automatic 1.8 LX about 18 months ago with a short tax/mot and the seller was honest enough to say that she hadn’t had anything done to it for 3 yrs apart from new pads and dics as she had only used it to potter about town in. Well, the first thing done was an oil and filter change along with air filter, plugs, leads etc., on a service and I have to say the car has been brilliant since and has done loads of motorway and city driving without any problems whatsoever. It is comfortable and handles well and the bodywork isn’t showing any signs of rust, so I think I got a bargain for £400 especially as it went through the MOT needing only a new tyre to pass. I wouldn’t hesitate to get another 306.
